What is the order of priority when it comes to placing children?

Answer: As per Indian laws, in-country adoptions are to be given first preference. Out of the total number of children free for adoption (including children with special needs), 80 percent of the children should be placed within the country while 20 percent are open to inter-country adoptions.

Thereafter, as per the order of priority, Non Resident Indians get first preference followed by Overseas Citizens of Indian, Persons of Indian Origin and then Foreign Nationals.
