What are the rules with regard to children with special needs?

Children with physical or mental disabilities, who need special attention and who may not be able to lead a normal life, are referred to as children with special needs.

Children with special needs must be placed as soon as possible and people applying for such children are given top priority on the waiting list.

In addition, it is the duty of the agency to counsel the prospective adoptive parents at length, with regard to the needs of the child as well as give them a detailed description of the condition of the child, without holding back any facts. Since caring for a special child will surely be a challenging task, the agency must assess the ability to the prospective parents to handle the situation with special care and extra love.

If children with special needs do not get adopted, they may be moved to Specialized Adoption Agencies.
